Security Overview
At FreeFlipbook, we understand that your uploaded documents contain valuable, proprietary, or sensitive corporate information. We prioritize your document security above all else. This commitment details exactly how we handle, process, and delete your PDF assets.
Local Browser-Side Processing
Traditional PDF converters upload your raw files to remote cloud queues for rendering. FreeFlipbook uses a hybrid architecture:
- Client-Side WebWorkers: The initial document parsing, text vector layout mapping, and image rasterization happen directly inside your web browser using HTML5 WebWorkers.
- Zero Queue Vulnerabilities: Because the heavy rendering occurs locally, your raw files bypass the risk of being intercepted in shared cloud queuing systems.
Uploaded PDF Privacy
Once your document is prepared, only the compiled flipbook asset bundle is uploaded to our secure host storage to generate your sharing link.
- Default Privacy: Uploaded flipbooks are private by default. Only users with the unique GUID-based URL can access your shared publication.
- Access Controls: Pro and Biz account holders can activate password protection to secure sensitive files.
- Search Engine Exclusions: You can choose to mark your shared flipbook with a `noindex` tag to prevent search engine bots from scanning or listing your documentation.
Automatic File Deletion Policy
We follow strict document lifecycle rules to minimize digital footprints:
| File Type | Storage Area | Deletion Schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Temporary Convert Files | Browser Session Cache | Instantly when browser tab closes |
| Uploaded PDF File | Secure CDN Server S3 | Deleted immediately after conversion completes |
| Free Shared Flipbook Package | Secure Cloud Host | Automatically purged after **30 days** of inactivity |
| Pro Pack / Biz Flipbooks | Secure Cloud Host | Kept for duration of subscription; deleted instantly upon user command |
Data Encryption & Transmission
All network transfers to and from FreeFlipbook are encrypted:
- SSL/TLS Encryption: We utilize modern SSL certificates supporting 256-bit TLS 1.3 encryption to protect data in transit.
- Encrypted Storage: Our cloud hosting buckets leverage AES-256 server-side encryption for compiled publications.
- Secure Payment Processing: Payments are processed entirely by Paddle. FreeFlipbook does not collect or store credit card details on our servers.
